Music

My influences start way back when I was a kid; Driving around with my dad as he played cassettes from various non-genre-related artists like Oasis and Aerosmith among others. I vaguely remember not being able to see over the dashboard properly, but I loved it all the same.

In my teens, I became obsessed with Pop-Punk as many of my ilk did. Listening to bands like Blink-182, GreenDay and Fallout Boy, but my musical awakening happened when I discovered Paul Weller. Suddenly a wealth of diverse material was open to me, which spoke to me in a way I hadn't heard before. From The Jam through The Style Council and into the solo years. . this was music in which I could truly hear the influence of bygone eras. Punk and Soul, Ska and Rock.. Jazz.

Weller's music single handedly turned me on to all the old 60's British Invasion bands like The Kinks, The Small Faces and (For shame that I hadn't already listened to them) The Beatles. And onto old Soul and R&B artists like Otis Reding, The Four Tops, The Temptations etc.. These and many others contributed to what has become "My Sound". My Debut EP will be released in the coming months, but for now, sample some songs from my Soundcloud below...
